Impressive homes for the money
I've been showing custom homes quite a bit lately and have been impressed with what is available out there right now for the money. Largely, we are seeing custom properties with very good square footage in nice communities starting around the $550,000 mark. There aren't many here but what I have seen has been impressive. If you compare some of these with tract homes in the same general areas where the seller has them priced high, the comparison and value is easy to discern.
Now, as one might read in my articles section, homes priced above $400,000 will likely face additional price declines due to the lower level of activity in that market segment. So, we should see some more of these properties fall ino range for buyers that are currently on the cusp of being able to afford a custom, luxury property.
So, if you have been looking for that dream house and your budget is capped at $700,000, you will be pleasantly surprised at what is coming on the market.
What's driving this? Overall inventory and lack of activity as well as foreclosures and short sales (the current owners can no longer pay for these properties that they bought during the market high).
