From a real estate perspective, schools can play a critical decision criteria for many Buyers.  Many Buyers search for a home based solely on the school district the home is located in. 

But consideration for schools should also keep in mind any future adult requirements.  Many working adults will go back to school at some point in their lives.  So, understanding where major places of learning might be located is always helpful.

Note: Many of the school districts will have agreements with neighboring cities and so it is critical to review districting maps to see exactly what school district and schools apply to the home you are looking at.  As well, if the choice of schools is driving your purchase decision, make sure to review any available school district and individual school performance information for an area you are interested in.
